English: Flag of California. This version is designed to accurately depict the standard print of the bear as well as adhere to the official flag code regarding the size, position and proportion of the bear, the colors of the flag, and the position and size of the star.

While the design on the California state flag is in the public domain [having been first published at least as early as 1911 -- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_state_flag ], it is UNLAWFUL under California law:

  • 2008-01-28 22:46 DevinCook 900×600×0 (390346 bytes) This version sets the colors to the official colors of the flag. However, real-life implementations tend to vary. This version also works on the eye.
  • 2008-01-28 18:45 DevinCook 900×600×0 (390397 bytes) Fixed metrics of "California Republic".
  • 2008-01-28 14:49 DevinCook 900×600×0 (390366 bytes) Fixed the star to fit the official (yet ambiguous) flag description. The flag wikipedia-created thumbnails are not updating, unfortunately.
  • 2008-01-26 17:07 DevinCook 900×600×0 (390386 bytes) Made the proportions of the flag match the spec (best as possible). The image size was increased to 900x600 to make it easier to for determining sizes. The "C" in California was fixed and the overall text was made bolder.
