BeskrivelseAnimation of `Oumuamua passing through the Solar System.webm
English: This animation shows the path of the interstellar asteroid 1I/2017 (ʻOumuamua) through the Solar System. Observations with ESO's Very Large Telescope and others have shown that this object is dark, reddish in colour and highly elongated.
Note: This animation inaccurately depicts the planets orbiting in the wrong direction. In reality, ʻOumuamua approached the Solar System from the Northern Celestial Hemisphere and the planets orbit in an anticlockwise direction (as viewed from the North).
