English: Nils Kreuger, Karl Nordström and Richard Bergh formed the Varberg school in the 1890s, which represented a new style of landscape painting. This painting shows spring farming in the characteristic Halland countryside. Stylistically, it resembles works by artists such as Gauguin and van Gogh, for instance in the sharp contours of the newly ploughed furrows. The frame was also sculpted by the artist.
Svenska: Nils Kreuger bildade tillsammans med Karl Nordström och Richard Bergh på 1890-talet Varbergsskolan som stod för ett nytt slags landskapsmåleri. Detta motiv visar vårbruket i den särpräglade halländska naturen. Samtidigt är den stilistiskt är besläktad med verk av bland andra Gauguin och Van Gogh. Detta märks till exempel i de skarpa konturerna av åkerns nyplöjda fåror. Ramen är också skulpterad av konstnären.
