Dansk: Lewis and Clark Pass på den flere århundreder gamle Buffalo Road Trail, der forbinder Rocky Mountains’ bjergdale med prærien østpå. Stammer som flathead, kootenai, nez percé og pend d’oreille brugte stien gennem det meste af 1800-tallet, når de ville jage bisoner på prærien. Lewis and Clark Pass kaldes Indian Fort Pass af salish og pend d’oreilles på grund af to lave stenkonstruktioner på en bjergkam ved passet, hvorfra vagter kunne overskue den lavereliggende prærie og opdage folk på vej mod passet og Buffalo Road Trail.
English: Lewis and Clark Pass on the many centuries old Buffalo Road Trail along Blackfoot River, Montana. It connects the valleys of the Rocky Mountains with the Northern Plains. Columbia Plateau natives used the trail to get to the huntings grounds east of the mountains. The pass is called Indian Fort Pass by the Salish and Pend d’Oreille. Two stone structures on a ridge above the pass were used by natives to watch for approaching strangers on the plains.
