Public domain According to the Romanian Law on Copyright and Neighboring Rights Law no. 8/1996 of March 14, 1996 with further amendments Chapter 3 Article 9 the following documents shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright:

  • (c) official symbols of the State, public authorities and organizations, such as armorial bearings, seals, flags, emblems, shields, badges and medals;
  • (d) means of payment;
  • (e) news and press information;
  • (f) simple facts and data.

Also, according to Chapter 10 Article 85 Paragraph 2,

  • The photographs of letters, deeds, documents of any kind, technical drawings and other similar papers shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.

Română: Descrierea stemei:

Stema municipiului Resita, potrivit anexei nr. 1 la hotarare, se compune dintr-un scut cu marginile rotunjite, taiat in banda si in bara. In primul camp, de azur, este o frunza de stejar cu ghinda de aur. In campul al doilea, de argint, un furnal rosu. In campul al treilea, de azur, o lira de aur. In chef, pe fond rosu, o locomotiva in culoare naturala. Scutul este timbrat de o coroana murala de argint, cu sapte turnuri crenelate. Semnificatia elementelor insumate: Furnalul si locomotiva amintesc de traditia industriala a orasului, ce s-a dezvoltat de peste doua secole in jurul industriei metalurgice si la sfarsitul secolului al XIX-lea, in jurul productiei de locomotive. Frunza de stejar cu ghinde exprima bogatia silvica a zonei, potentialul turistic si perspectiva ecologica a localitatii. Lira este imaginea simbol a activitatii culturale a localitatii, cu traditii si atestare documentara din anul 1869, a primei Reuniuni de cantari si lectura. Coroana murala cu sapte turnuri crenelate arata ca localitatea are rang de municipiu resedinta de judet. |
