Modul:Location map/data/Canada is a location map definition used to overlay markers and labels on an equirectangular projection map of Canada. The markers are placed by latitude and longitude coordinates on the default map or a similar map image.
Usage
These definitions are used by the following templates when invoked with parameter "Canada":
{{Location map | Canada | ...}}
{{Location map many | Canada | ...}}
{{Location map+ | Canada | ...}}
{{Location map~ | Canada | ...}}
Map definition
name = Canada
- Name used in the default map caption
image = Canada location map.svg
- The default map image, without "Image:" or "File:"
image1 = Relief map of Canada.png
- An alternative map image, usually a relief map, can be displayed via the relief or AlternativeMap parameters
x = (0.43865313653137 + (1 - ($1- 63.31) * (0.034717103369757 + 0.000003525145 * ($1- 63.31) * ($1- 63.31))) * ($2+ 94.94) * ( 0.0089116793548638 - 0.000000361163 * ($2 + 94.94) * ($2 + 94.94))) * 100
- An expression to calculate a location on the map via its longitude; evaluates as 0 along the left edge and 100 along the right edge
y = (-0.14714022140221 + (1 - ($1- 63.31) * (0.034717103369757 + 0.000003525145 * ($1 - 63.31) * ($1 - 63.31))) * ( 0.57149446494465 - 0.000069482763 * ($2 + 94.94) * ($2 + 94.94))) * 100 * 1.17826087
- An expression to calculate a location on the map via its latitude; evaluates as 0 along the top edge and 100 along the bottom edge
Alternative map
The map defined as image1 (Relief map of Canada.png
) can be displayed by using the relief or AlternativeMap parameters in {{Location map}}, {{Location map many}} and {{Location map+}}. The use of these two parameters is shown in the examples below. Additional examples can be found at:
- Template:Location map#Relief parameter
- Template:Location map#AlternativeMap parameter
- Template:Location map+/relief
- Template:Location map+/AlternativeMap
Examples using location map templates
Location map, using default map (image)
{{Kortpositioner | Canada | width = 250 | lat_deg = 45.42 | lon_deg = -75.7 | label = Ottawa }}
Location map many, using relief map (image1)
{{Location map many | Canada | relief = yes | width = 250 | caption = Two locations in Canada | lat1_deg = 45.42 | lon1_deg = -75.7 | label1 = Ottawa | lat2_deg = 49.25 | lon2_deg = -123.1 | label2 = Vancouver }}
Location map+, using AlternativeMap
{{Location map+ | Canada | AlternativeMap = Relief map of Canada.png | width = 250 | caption = Two locations in Canada | places = {{Location map~ | Canada | lat_deg = 45.42 | lon_deg = -75.7 | label = Ottawa }} {{Location map~ | Canada | lat_deg = 49.25 | lon_deg = -123.1 | label = Vancouver }} }}
