Israelske bosættelser
Israelske bosættelser er samfund beboet af israelere på det område, som blev besat i Seksdageskrigen i 1967. Det gør dem ulovlige efter International Lov. De findes på Vestbredden, som dels er under israelsk militær kontrol[1] , dels under palæstinensisk selvstyre-kontrol og i Golan, som er under israelsk civil kontrol. Termen gælder således også:
- Østjerusalem, som blev inkorporeret inden for Jerusalems kommunegrænser, selvom denne de jure anneksion under Jerusalem-Loven ikke er anerkendt af det internationale samfund;[2][3] og
- Golan Højderne, hvor militært styre i 1981 blev afløst af israelsk civilt styre med administration og jurisdiktion under Golan Højde-Loven.
Yderligere 18 bosættelser eksisterede tidligere på Sinai-halvøen, og 21 i Gaza-striben.. De blev forladt som følge af israelsk tilbagetrækning i 1982 (Sinai) og 2005.
En lang række internationale organisationer FN's sikkerhedsråd, Den internationale Domstol, Den Europæiske Union, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch og mange undervisere i International Ret har karakteriseret bosættelserne som et brud på International Lov, mens andre juraproffesorer som Israel og ADL er uenige.
Israelsk politik over for disse bosættelser har gået fra aktiv opbakning til fjernelse med magt, og deres fortsatte eksistens og status siden 1970'erne er et af de mest betændte områder i den arabisk-Israelske konflikt
