J. Robert Oppenheimer

J. Robert Oppenheimer (22. april 1904 - 18. februar 1967) var amerikansk fysiker og leder af Los Alamos laboratoriet under udviklingen af atombomben (1943-1945).

Mistanke om manglende loyalitet i 1953 førte til en senatshøring, som resulterede i, at han mistede sin betroede status. Oppenheimer blev af størstedelen af den videnskabelige verden betragtet som en martyr, der var blevet offer for mccarthyismen.
