System to get images on articles by checking if Wikipedia and/or Wikidata have an image and providing lists of pages that can be improved. The system was announced at Wikipedia:Landsbybrønden/Wikidata images. The first part will be to improve Wikipedia. So far images have been added to about 1300 pages.

Overview

The system currently uses about 100 templates. Total pages covered by the system: 31.054 (16,47% of all pages).

Results

• 2000 images have been added to Wikipedia articles so far.
• 5000 images have been uploaded to Wikidata by a bot (for usage on other Wikipedias).

How you can help

• Go to Kategori:Intet lokalt billede, men billede på Wikidata and add images from Wikidata to the articles on Wikipedia.
• Go to Kategori:Lokalt billede, men intet billede på Wikidata and add images from the articles on Wikipedia to Wikidata.

The system will update itself once you have added an image to an article, though this might take halve a day.

Tip: Start at the end of the category, since the first part has already been checked and any pages there cannot be improved.

Problems you can run into

After images have been added to all articles some articles will be left without images. This is due to some images on Wikidata not being usefull to the Danish Wikipedia, or because there is a second template on the page without an image, or because the images are on the page, but not in the template. About 15% of the pages in Kategori:Intet lokalt billede, men billede på Wikidata cannot be improved. This amount will increase as improved pages are taken off the list. Eventually all pages on the list cannot be improved. It will then only function as a way to monitor any changes.

How it works

This is done by Skabelon:Wikidata image, which when added to a template can see whether or not the pages that use that template have an image in the template. The pages are then put in a category to differentiate them. To add the template Wikidata image, add the following to a template (example [1]) and change the "billede"to whatever that templates uses, like "image" or "Billede":
